Ivylands classroom
This is another rammed earth project built by non-specialist contractors using Ram Cast as consultants. Once again the surveyor/designers were Conker Conservation, a collaboration that has worked well over the years. Designed on Passivhaus principles the classroom has performed extremely well. In fact the building is so efficient it is only heated for a day a week. This has lead to more earth building by East Sussex County Council, with rammed earth classrooms now in three other schools in the county.
We supply pre-contract expertise in material choice and testing, formwork design and ordering and off and on-site training.
This building is a new classroom block for Plumpton College for Sustainable Food and Farming .
