This self build rammed earth boiler house was constructed by an owner who made his own formwork, dug his own soil and designed his own building – which also includes a turf roof. Built for minimal cost with the help of friends we provided him with some advice about the basics of soil preparation, placing and ramming, as well as some help on how to build formwork which was then converted into roof components. He assures me the doors will be painted the same colour soon.
