Field wall
This tiny project shows what can be done with very little. The images are a step by step guide to assembling formwork and building walls. The formwork used was built and assembled by hand, no electricity was available, in a day. The material used was already dug but had to be moved a short distance by barrow.
This 3sq. m wall was built by two people in a day. Good for containing cattle without requiring expensive poles and wire, they can also help in burning fire breaks, and with another lift on top would start to become a barrier to both poachers and game. The only missing element is a rain cap which will be provided by the use of natural slate in this case, but could be achieved using a number of natural elements including clay, stone, wood, grass or reeds. Unnatural elements from used tyres could also form a robust and low cost roof.
