Rammed earth at BREEAM

Earth building is becoming more mainstream, so we put rammed earth into The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method. This is the first time an earth building material has been included on this internationally recognised system of assessment for building materials. They compare and rate every part of a construction process and materials to set a datum for choosing materials for a project. Each element, walls, roof, openings etc. are then added together to reach a final rating for a building.
Rammed earth can now be rated as a building material both in the UK and by users around the world.
