Rammed earth in Kenya

Many countries in Africa have historic examples of rammed earth. These were built in the 1940s as part of a settler housing scheme in Nairobi. The architecture isn’t very exiting but they are a group of solid houses which have been in constant occupation since they were built. When asked the current residents agreed that they required little in the way of heating or cooling, even in the extremes of weather which Nairobi can provide.
